Summary of the Weekend......
Isn't it weird.......
You anticipate with much bated breath for the long weekend ahead.....
Meticulously mapping out your "What To Do-s" and what-nots.
You can literally smell the sweet scent of "worklessness" even in your sleep...
But when the days finally hit you, you'd almost always end up
doing stuff that was not even on the list to begin with.
And somehow you get sucked into it all,
knowing at the back of your head,
this is not what u signed-up for....
blah!
Saturday ~
Nothing extraordinary...
We went to my mom's, just a few blocks away,
for lunch.
Had yummy Fish HeadCurry,
tho Keerook did'nt had any as he is simply
not an ardent fan of consuming
fish-parts with loads of bones
or anything with loads of bones
for that matter.
Besides Abah has not seen us for quite awhile,
since he's working shifts and all.
So we came, eat, yap
and took a slow stroll back home curry and all...
Sunday ~
Stayed home for most of the day.
Did the usual chores, laundry, gardening.. yadda..yadda..yadda..
@ around 6, Keerook told me that
Vec and fam were going to catch the fireworks thingy
and he asked us to join them.
Sounds like a neat idea, so off we went...
And keeping with the trend
of not ending up doing what u were supposed to
on your workless day,
we ended up getting stuck in traffic and
only managed to catch the last few miserable seconds
of the fireworks just as we got off the bus...
>(
Monday ~
The marketing that wasn't.
Could'nt get most of the essentials on the list
as most of the shops were either closed or out of it,
being a Monday and all.
We ended up buying some lotus root, shitake mushrooms
and a friendly neighbourhood pandan cake
which looked extraordinarily yummy to me
at that moment that i just had to get it
And all those stuff were not even on the list.
Lunch was a brief affair of Tempura
Finally,
we're going to do something that's actually on the list.
"Celebrating Our Existence"- a LioncityHardcore Showcase.
Met up with Matno and Betty @ Bangkit LRT
and headed for Cuppage Plaza, the gig venue.
While the guys did their setting up and all,
me and Betty took time out at OG and Robinsons.
Met up with our significant others a little later on
and went back to the venue.
All in all the gig was ok, good crowd but sucky venue.
It was stated as Nexus Auditorium on the promos.....
but upon reaching there the ACTUAL place
where the gig was going to be held in
was nothing more than a mere classroom
with a whiteboard to boot "conveniently"
located near the toilets......
YES!!!!
Lliterally the 'bilik kecik blakang jamban' scenario.
This was also the first ever gig
which i attended that the band members' spouses
had to pay!
And I'm only there for Keerook's band
and I had to pay 6 bucks!!!!
I know it's not a megaload amount,
but if you saw the set-up and venue and all the stuff
that add up to it you'd know why I'm a very pissed about it.
I didn't catch the rest of the bands as we came up
just in time before Stampede took the floor.
Its been almost 4 years since
Keerook last took the stage with Stampede and
with it being the band's 10th year of existence and all,
this was a significant comeback gig of sorts.
Had dinner with the rest of the guys next door at
Orchard Plaza
before cabbing our way back home.
