Kitchen Top Bartending
Things to you need for mixing....
No, you dont need to get the whole bartender set!
Just the basics would do.
I was soooo into 'bartending' during my younger days...
But yes,
I stopped short at being a bartender, coz,
MANA ADA BAR HALAL BEB?
nak kena Pelangkong ngan Encik R.K kappa?
INGAT NIE TIME ALI SETAN KER, BAR SERVE FRESH ORANGE JEK?
Neway,
I did it all in the name of fun.
At home, okay!
Whenever there's family gatherings with uncles& aunties &
my no-older-than-10year old cousins,
I would, without fail, turned bartender!
Now that I've got my own shed,
and my very own 'bar-counter',
I think I can start 'bartending' again...
The Essentials
Stay tune...
For more mocktails recipes & concoctions.

SPANISH BAKED RICE..... Modified Version
With regards to my last entry on da
SPANISH BAKED RICE....
Gurls,
lemme share with you a tip or two.
If you were to follow measurement on the original recipe ,
the turnout would be,
in my honest opinion,
very tomato-ish.
Tak ngam dengan tekak Mayoo....
Mayoo kan, tak kena sambal, tak sah!
Kalau tak hot & spicy kan, tak sah!
Very tomato-ish = Very Muak
And yours truly,
kalau tak modify kan, tak sah!
Okay, here's my
modified version!
1 kg lean ground beef
1 cup finely chopped onion
1 yellow bell pepper - chopped / diced/ sliced - whatever way you like it.
1 red bell pepper
14.5 oz stewed tomatoes
2 cups water
1 cup beef stock
2 cups uncooked long grain rice
1/2 cup chile sauce
1 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoon chili powder
1 teaspoon brown sugar
1 teaspoon ground cumin
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1 pinch ground black pepper
1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
2 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro
a dash of Cajun Seasoning.
or whatever herbs you have in your collection....
To be frank, I campak in almost all sorta herbs & spices.
DIRECTIONS:
Preheat oven to 190 degrees C.
Brown the ground beef in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
Drain excess fat and transfer beef to a large pot over medium low heat.
Stir in the onion, green bell pepper
Add tomatoes, water, rice, chile sauce, salt, brown sugar, cumin, chili powder, beef stock, Worcestershire sauce and ground black pepper.
Stir well.
Let this simmer for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, then transport this to the rice cooker.
Let it cook.
Before serving, transfer it to a casserole dish.
Press down firmly and sprinkle with the shredded Cheddar cheese.
Bake for 10 to 15 minutes, or until cheese is melted and bubbly.
Garnish with chopped fresh cilantro or coriander leaves.

PINA COLADA
My initial plan to serve
TEQUILA SUNRISE & TEQUADOR
was thwarted all because of 1 main reason.
That is,
I'M UNABLE TO GET
GRENADINE!!!!!!!
Takperlah, Gee....
Bukan rezeki lu, lah!
Lain kali lu datang, gua serve lu tu Cocktail....
Taruk grenadine banyak2, kasi lu stoink eh....
*Eh, minum grenadine boleh stoink ke?*
Walau bagaimanapun,
untuk tidak menghampakan
hati & perasan kawan baikku,
yang sememangnya teringin bangatttt nak
'togok todi halal',
aku perah otakku, memikirkan apa yang boleh aku hidangkan
untuk tetamu terhormat ku ini....
Orait Beb,
ini untuk lu!
PINA COLADA
3measures white or golden rum
4measures pineapple juice
2measures coconut milk
2 scoops crushed ice
Slice of fresh pineapple to garnish
Blend all ingredients together in a liquidizer.
Serve in a tumbler - or, for a totally tropical effect,
in a coconut shell.
Garnish generously with pineapple and paper parasols, and with two straws.
***
This cocktail is best made with coconut milk.
But you may substitute it with coconut cream instead.
For a totally tropical cooler,
omit the Rum, but add a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
Add 7Up to give it a carbonated zing
