Lil' Boys Shouldn't Be Sent To Bed Early, They'll Always Wake Up A Day Older...
Do you ever felt on some days,
after a long day at work,
and when you've settled down and all,
having picked your lil' un from the babysitter,
you noticed that your baby seems to have grown sooo much,

His antics, the way he jokes and craves attention,
the way he talks to you....

Its as if as he's done a month's worth of growing up
in a mere 24hrs!

I feel a tinge of regret,
for not being able to really 'watch' him grow
in the afternoon.

Keerook & I
were in the kitchen the other evening,
when
Lil' Mika
came in, pointing to the large kropok filled container and said,
"Nakkkkk...... Nakkkk Popo...."
Gave him a piece, and he walked back to the living room,
sat on his mattress in front of the teevee.
Like a big boy,
precociously glued to the goggle box,
with sheer concentration on whatever's unfolding....
He looked so unbelievably grown-up in that moment
Uuwwwaaahhhhh!!!!
Not dat its a bad thing,
but.... but...
its too soon!

Extra Beef, Extra Chili, Extra Time Please...
Keerook had numerously insisted that
I take time off for myself,
just to relax and let off some steam
break away from my chores & routine
for a moment.
"Go out with your girlfriends, lah!
Shopping, go for a nice meal, movies or anything!" He shooed!
After much contemplating,
and no thanks to the hard nudges &
excessive persuasion-till-my-earwax melted,
I decided to go ahead with the
anomaly known as the
Laydees Day Out!
Okay....
But for the 1st time,
it wont be anything fancy of such!
"Anything lah, just take the time-out! As long as it makes you happy.."
He insisted... again
"Just enjoy yourself. Don't worry about things at home!"
Yeah, Rite!
Still,
strode past the prison gate
I did,
swinging my black&white handbag,
walked to the nearest bus stop,
hopped onto the bus
and head to Clementi Ave 3
for a nice hot bowl of
Thaksin Super Supreme Beef Noodle
with lots of chili padi!
*Slurp*
He was right!
Its been ages since I last got to
slurp my favourite kway teow,
with its generous beef cubes & tetelans,
without
having the lil' munchkin vying for my attention!
Without
having to stop and feed a strand or two
of the super yummy rice noodle to the toddler.
Without
having to share my oh-so-evil delicacy!
Not that I never appreciate him being around me, of course...
but just for that moment
it was a much needed breath of fresh air..
Besides,
No kid in tow means,
I can put as much
chilli flakes, cili padi, cili jeruk,
as I desire, without sparing another thought!
*Slurp!*
Enuff of the
damn-hot-sampai-meleleh-hingus-aku noodle orgy.
With the sun scorching,
at its fullest glory right above our heads,
SHE decided that the best place to
'sit and continue yakking'
is none other than McDees.
Its airconditioned, dats y!
McDees pun McDees lah beb!
Gua tak cerewet!
I couldn't agree more!
Pathetic?
I dont think so!
We yakked and yakked
till the cows come home.
At the end of the day,
it was indeed,
time well spent with a good friend,
Blah-blah-ing &
catching up on lost times.
And most important,
I felt refreshed!
Really!
Went home light hearted &
all ready to resume my
domestic roles.
Ya lah, Keerook!
I must do more of this!

Nevermind that all the songs sound almost alike.
What matters most is that

joins in the fun and picked up the
words & syllables as he go...

Nana Tek
We DID IT - AGAIN!
Since Keerook's out doing a show, and won't be back till
God-Knows-What Time,
The Duo decided to spend the late afternoon
BAKING AGAIN!
Nope, not muffins again.
But NANA TEK
* pronounced as Take
Simple ingredients & methods,
but enuff to put a smile into Lil' Angel's face.
Just whisk 2eggs, vanilla essence, 1/2 cup sugar, 1/2 cup canola oil.
Fold in 1cup self raising flour, followed by mashed bananas.
Bake.
Simple, ain't it?
But the best part is still,
watching Mikhail,
all nice & clean, fresh & sweet smelling,
in his pajamas,
sitting in front of the teevee,
enjoying his slices of Nana Tek.

SweetCorn Muffins
1cup self raising flour
1/4 teaspoon salt (dis I omit)
1tablespoon sugar
1 egg
1/4cup (60ml) corn oil
2/3cup (170ml) low fat milk (I use full cream milk instead)
2tablespoon chopped parsley
1can (420g) creamed corn oil

Preheat the oven to 200C
In a bowl,
mix the flour, salt and sugar.
Set aside.
In a large mixing bowl,
whisk the egg, oil and milk.
Mix this with the flour mixture,
stirring just enough to combine well but
DO NOT Overmix.
Add the parsley and creamed corn.
Mix well.
Spoon mixture into individual
muffin cups or a greased muffin tin.
Bake for 25mins, or until the muffins are
well risen and are golden brown in colour.
Serve with a glass bottle of milk!

My Gym.... My Babe
Lil' Mikhail
had his first trial session at
My Gym
It was hilarious,
watching his antics,
going wild & getting lost in his own world...
He wasn't at all interested in
socialising & interacting
with the rest,
and even got me all
agitated & frustrated
at one point of time,
for his refusal in joining
'the circle'
even for a minute.
He was much much more interested in
Jumping on trampolin,
hanging on monkey bar,
balancing on the slides...
However,
at the end of the day,
I'm just glad
my boy had a blast of time
and
Oh well.....
Looks like I've gotta sign up for him soon!

~ cuci bersih & hiris tipis
1 biji bawang Jepun
~ dihiris bulat
7 tangkai lada padi
~ dicincang kasar
3batang lada merah
~ dihiris serong
2ulas bawang putih
~ dicincang halus
segenggam daun selasih
~ dicuci bersih & tos
3sudu makan sos tiram
6sudu makan minyak masak
2sudu makan sos ikan
1sudu makan gula
Panaskan minyak dan tumis bawang putih hingga wangi.
Masukkan sos tiram, kedua jenis lada, bawang hiris dan daging.
Kacau dan balik-balikkan.
Masukkan daun selasih, 3sudu makan air, sos ika dan gula.
Gaul rata dan angkat.
Enak dihidangkan panas2...
